Status Board
Number 6 on your main menu.
The Status Board opens on the location where you work.
There are 6 columns in the Status board:
Column 1
Column 2
Column 3
Column 4
Column 5
Column 6
The first 3 columns are pinned which means they are fixed and do not
move.
Click on the tabs/ links on the right hand
side to go to the relevant screen.
If you are a bank nurse, the status board will open blank with no patients
on it as you are not attached to any specific location. In this instance,
you click on Location and enter the location where you are.
The first column
In the first column, you have the room and bed number. When the Status
Board opens, they will be in ascending order. If you click on the Room
tab, a small arrow appears, and if you click again you can have the
rooms in descending order.

The 2nd column
In the 2nd column, there's the Patient's name, unit number and account
number. Patients with similar names or same surnames will be highlighted
in yellow as shown in image above.
If you double click on any patient's name, you get a snapshot of their
details with all sections expanded. The Expand/Collapse all button
will open/close all sections. Alternatively, you can expand/collapse
each individual section by clicking on the +/- sign next to each
section.
Click Close or press F11 to exit.

The 3rd column
In the 3rd column, you can view any new result: If the patient has
new result ready it will flag up here. If there are multiple results
it will appear as Res, if the result is singular it will appear from
which ever module the results are generating from i.e. Lab or Mic. Furthermore,
the system distinguishes the results by background colour with green/grey
used to indicate normal results , yellow for abnormal , and red for
critically abnormal .

If you click any result indicator, you will be taken to PCI to view
it.
Once the result has been viewed, the indicator disappears, but only
for that user.
It wouldn't disappear from other users' log in until they view the
new result themselves.
The result indicator stays on the Status Board for 24 hours before
it disappears even if the result has not been viewed.

The 4th column
In this column, you find the admitting consultant name and any other
physicians looking after the patient.
If you click on any of the consultants' names, another window will open
with his/her details.
Click Close or press F11 to exit.
Patients can be grouped by consultant: Click in the consultant's tab,
a small arrow will appear there and patients will be grouped by consultants
in alphabetical order from A-Z. If you click again, patients will be
grouped by consultants from Z-A.
To see the rest of the columns, click on the green/grey arrow on the
bottom right hand corner.

The 5th column
This column shows the Patient's admission date, status, sex, age and
date of birth.

The 6th column
This column shows the admission diagnosis and the actual procedure,
only if the latter has been entered properly on the administrative data
screen.

The small arrow indicates further information.
By clicking on it, this information displays in a separate window.

Integrated desktop
It contains the buttons on the right hand side of the status Board.
Each one of the buttons, once clicked, will direct the user to the
relevant documentation screen which will be discussed in the coming
chapters.

Location
To view any location, click on Location, enter the location
name you want to view (e.g.WN4), press return.
Find Patient
To find a patient, click Find Patient button, enter first few
letters of the patient's surname and lookup, select the patient from
the list, then return. The patient will display on the Status Board.

Manage List
This button allows users to allocate patients to themselves or to other
nurses.
The first section of the screen is the User Field. This field is used
to populate the User Table below it. Once a user opens the screen his/her
name will default in the User Table.
To find a user, a lookup by name can be performed. Once a user is selected,
the name will appear in the User Table below the User Field.
By clicking on a user's name in the table, you can highlight or un-highlight
it. In addition, there is a Select all Field located in the header of
the table, by clicking on the check mark, all users in the table are
either highlighted or un-highlighted.

The Clear button will clear the User table from all users.
The Second field on the screen is the Patient Field. It allows for
the addition of individual patients to the Patient Table underneath
the field. When patients are added from this field, their names are
highlighted within the table.
The Clear button will clear the Patient Table from all patients.

There are four buttons beneath the Patient Table: Location,
Assign, Unassign and File.
The Location button will allow for a lookup of the available
locations. The patients from the rooms and beds will be added to the
Patient Table. Multiple locations can be chosen. The location button
will be available once a user has been added to the User Table.
The Assign button assigns all highlighted patients and rooms
and beds to the highlighted user/s.
Once a patient has been assigned to a user, the user's initials appear
in the Assigned Field in the User Table. The initials of the
assigned user are colour coded to represent three different actions:
Black is used when a user is currently being assigned to a patient before
filing the screen, Gray is used to identify users who have been assigned
to the patient and Red is used for users who have been unassigned from
the patient.
The Unassign button will remove highlighted patients, rooms
and beds from a user's list once the screen has been filed. The user's
initials colour in the Assigned Field will change from gray to
red.
The File button will file all assigned and unassigned edits
to the user's list. If edits are not filed once they have been assigned/unassigned,
they will not be saved to the user's list.

Additional Functionality
A magnifying glass icon in the User Table allows users to invoke a
pop-up screen containing a list of patients currently assigned to a
user. This list can be then copied to the Patient Table and these patients
assigned to other users.
Additionally, a copy icon in the user table allows users to copy this
list to the Patient Table without first invoking the pop-up screen.
My list
If patients have been allocated to a user, once this user clicks My
List button, the Status Board displays only the patients allocated to
the user. It only displays rooms which are occupied. If you are allocated
empty rooms, these will appear when the patients are admitted.
